Game Of Thrones High Jewellery Collection By Fabergé

The Fabergé x Game of Thrones High Jewellery collection is the latest phase of the luxury Maison's ongoing collaboration with Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products.

The collection will be released in a succession of 'chapters' over the following two years, immortalising the amazing tale of the award-winning HBO television series. Last night, Chapter One: Dragon was unveiled at a private event in Dubai. The High Jewellery collection was created to delight fans by fusing Fabergé's artistic ingenuity with the fantastical world of one of the twenty-first century's most popular television shows. It was conceptualised and designed in collaboration between Michele Clapton, the Emmy and BAFTA winning costume designer for Game of Thrones, and Liisa Tallgren, Fabergé's head of design, and was overseen by Fabergé's creative director, Josina von dem Bussche-K

To commemorate the tenth anniversary of the series' premiere episode, Fabergé created a one-of-a-kind bespoke objet d'art - the Fabergé x Game of Thrones egg - in April 2021. Following the success of this egg objet, which sold to a private collector for $2.2 million (£1.8 million), the Maison believes that a more extensive series of wearable pieces is a natural evolution for this creative collaboration. The High Jewellery collection incorporates design elements from the sets, costumes, characters, and landscapes of Westeros' Seven Kingdoms.

The path of orphan-turned-warrior Daenerys Targaryen, as well as her fascination for dragons and ability to utilise jewellery to represent her strength, inspired each item in Chapter One: Dragon. Chapter One: Dragon has five designs, each with just 10 collector pieces available. Each piece features the Targaryen house colours of black and red, which Daenerys Targaryen wears throughout the series. Daenerys' fiery spirit is symbolised by deep red rubies responsibly sourced from Gemfields' Montepuez mine in Mozambique. The precious and rare gemstones are set in white gold, rose gold, diamonds, and black rhodium.

The Fabergé x Game of Thrones White Gold and Black Rhodium Diamond Egg Transformable Pendant and Fabergé x Game of Thrones White Gold and Black Rhodium Diamond Dragon Tail Earrings are inspired by the TV series' dragon bones. The Transformable Pendant is made up of a striking dragon egg made of 18k white gold with contrasting black rhodium plating and hangs from a diamond set chain. The egg is made of flame-like forms and beautifully set with white diamonds that depict flickering flames. The egg's arrow-like tail trails behind it, as if a dragon is hatching and emerging from within.

Both the tail and the egg may be detachable, recognising Daenerys' character development and providing collectors with increased wearability for both day and evening wear. The Dragon Tail Earrings match the necklace's articulated chain and have a monochromatic aesthetic with a graduation of 18k white gold through to black rhodium. The arrow-like tip of the earrings is set with pear-cut white diamonds and accented with white diamonds. The Fabergé x Game of Thrones White and Rose Gold Diamond Transformable Ear Cuff and Choker is an interconnected design that further represents Daenerys' ability to transform.

A pear-cut Mozambican ruby from Gemfields is set in a rose gold flame rising from the dragon's throat. White and Rose Gold Fabergé x Game of Thrones With pear-cut Gemfields Mozambican rubies radiating alongside pink sapphires and diamond spikes mimicking a dragon wing wrapping around, the dragon head arching protectively over the ear, the Ruby and Diamond Dragon Ear Cuff combines fierce and feminine.

Predominantly made of 18k white gold, the addition of 18k rose gold adds a lovely glow. The High Jewellery series culminates in the Fabergé x Game of Thrones White and Rose Gold Ruby, Diamond, and Sapphire Transformable Bracelet and Ring, which celebrates the full rebirth of the dragons. A dragon wraps around the finger, breathing gem-set fire that explodes into a statement bracelet. The bracelet is embellished with vibrant gemstones such as Gemfields rubies, pink and yellow sapphires, and brown and white diamonds. The ring and bracelet, which are linked by a chain, can be separated and worn separately.

"The collection was inspired by the strength and vulnerability of Daenerys and her relationship with her dragons, to try and express this complex woman and her journey from orphaned exile to conquering monarch and her ongoing quest for the Iron Throne," Michele Clapton said of the designs. "It looks great next to the latest Fabergé x Game of Thrones Egg." "The Fabergé x Game of Thrones 'Dragon' High Jewellery capsule collection presents different aspects of the mythical creatures, and documents their journey in the series alongside Daenerys," Liisa Tallgren added.

"From skeletal designs that allude to the dragon skeletons housed in a vault in King's Landing's Red Keep, to creations that feature Gemfields' Mozambican rubies to suggest that the dragons are back and alive, ready to breathe fire." Elena Basaglia, Gemfields' gemmologist, underlined the significance of using sustainably sourced Gemfields Mozambican rubies in the Fabergé x Game of Thrones High Jewellery collection: "Rubies have long been associated with passion, power, and protection, making this vivid red gem an appropriate choice." "North-eastern Mozambique has become renowned for producing some of the world's most exceptional rubies, displaying unparalleled colour and clarity as seen in these striking pieces."

"Each gemstone has been responsibly sourced by Gemfields, which means it has a positive impact for the country and community from which it originates, is environmentally conscious, and proudly benefits the Mozambican people." In keeping with Fabergé's tradition of surprise, the next three chapters in the High Jewellery collection will be revealed over the course of 2023.
