Game Of Thrones High Jewellery Collection By Fabergé

28 NOV 2022

The collection will be released in a succession of 'chapters' over the following two years, immortalising the amazing tale of the award-winning HBO television series. Last night, Chapter One: Dragon was unveiled at a private event in Dubai. The High Jewellery collection was created to delight fans by fusing Fabergé's artistic ingenuity with the fantastical world of one of the twenty-first century's most popular television shows.

It was conceptualised and designed in collaboration between Michele Clapton, the Emmy and BAFTA winning costume designer for Game of Thrones, and Liisa Tallgren, Fabergé's head of design, and was overseen by Fabergé's creative director, Josina von dem Bussche-K

To commemorate the tenth anniversary of the series' premiere episode, Fabergé created a one-of-a-kind bespoke objet d'art - the Fabergé x Game of Thrones egg - in April 2021. Following the success of this egg objet, which sold to a private collector for $2.2 million (£1.8 million), the Maison believes that a more extensive series of wearable pieces is a natural evolution for this creative collaboration.

The High Jewellery collection incorporates design elements from the sets, costumes, characters, and landscapes of Westeros' Seven Kingdoms. The path of orphan-turned-warrior Daenerys Targaryen, as well as her fascination for dragons and ability to utilise jewellery to represent her strength, inspired each item in Chapter One: Dragon.

Chapter One: Dragon has five designs, each with just 10 collector pieces available. Each piece features the Targaryen house colours of black and red, which Daenerys Targaryen wears throughout the series.

Daenerys' fiery spirit is symbolised by deep red rubies responsibly sourced from Gemfields' Montepuez mine in Mozambique. The precious and rare gemstones are set in white gold, rose gold, diamonds, and black rhodium.
